2. Old Town Hall

The three-storey building, with its typical square tower, was built soon after Jablonec's promotion to town, in 1867 through 1869, by Liberec's builder Gustav Sachers, originally, as the newly established municipality's seat. The building at the northern side of Dolní Náměstí (Lower Square), however, also became the seat of the main post office, and of the District Council later on, as well. When the new town hall had been built (in 1930s), the public library was moved to the old town hall and it has stayed there.
