5. Sokol Hall

O monumental Neo-Renaissance building built in 1897 at the eastern end of the municipal park. The ceremonial foundations excavation launch took place in April 1897, the cornerstone was laid in July and the building was under the roof in October the same year. The finishing jobs, however, were not complete for another year. The Sokol Hall was ceremonially opened on September 25, 1898. Jablonec's Sokol Hall was one of the largest gymnasiums in Bohemia at its times and it still serves its purpose. The municipal park was founded in 1885 and it is one of the most principal recreational town's zones. In the southwest corner of the park, a memorial to the World War I victims by architect Alfred Wenzel from 1936 can be found.
